Pattie Loggia
Studio #13
“Hi, I am Pattie Loggia. I had always been intrigued by pottery, but as a wife and mother never found or took the time to investigate it until there was an opportunity and I took a 6 week class at a local art studio and have been addicted ever since.
But being a self-supporting single mother, my pottery career has been in starts and stops.
I am basically self-taught and I’ve managed to create some wonderful pieces over the years. I did pottery in corners of kitchens, basements, garages, closets, porches, always trying to find a spot to create. It’s been a long journey. I sign my work Tinker as that was my nickname as a child.
I now have an actual studio space to work in, it is such a joy in my life.
I was a member of the High Woods Pottery Co-op for a few years. That was a wonderful experience, working and learning from other potters. For a while I showed and sold my work at the Wurtsboro Artist Association. There were wonderful painters there, displaying their Art. I was the only potter, other than a woman who used molds to create ceramic pieces.
Initially, I used to throw a lot on the wheel, making mugs and bowls and vases, but I’ve come to really enjoy hand building. As an avid gardener Garden Art seems to be my thing right now. People seem to enjoy the flowers and birds and critters that they can purchase for their gardens.
I hope you stop by for a look at my little oasis in the village
