SAUGERTIES ARTISTS STUDIO TOUR

               AUGUST 10-11, 2024, 10AM TO 6PM

This year’s tour features 45 artists who are preparing to welcome visitors where you will see completed work and works in progress in a wide array of mediums and styles. Whatever your interest, the tour has something for you—painters working in oils, acrylics, watercolors and inks, as well as with digital tools; collage makers and printmakers; photographers; and, sculptors working in polished steel or industrial debris and found objects, or ceramic artists whose work ranges from figurative to functional with a bit of funk thrown in for good measure. Any and all materials can be transformed into artfully created pieces, such as handcrafted furniture and home accessories made with high quality hardwoods as well as vintage barn wood. Adding to this eclectic mix is weaving, spinning, and handmade fashion accessories. New this year you will have an opportunity to meet with artists who specialize in Installation Art.

Gallery exhibit open weekends only. Saturdays 11am to 5pm & Sundays 1pm to 5pm. Gallery exhibit closes on Sunday, July 28.

About the show: This diverse group show offers a contemporary, kaleidoscopic glimpse into the world of artistic expression, in contrast to its setting in a 1750’s reconstructed Dutch barn. You will see classical styles as well as contemporary, from realistic to abstract works of art. The barn gives artists an opportunity to “go big,” displaying large works on canvas, moderately sized sculptures, furniture and pottery.  Not to be overlooked, well-lit museum panels will support 2-D and smaller 3-D work with selections in a wide range of media: painting, collage, mixed media, fiber art, print making and photography.

July 8-August 12: ArtSites in the Village, a walking tour of art in business windows, Main and Partition Streets, Saugerties, NY. Take a stroll through the historic village of Saugerties to enjoy the art, unique shops and eateries.
