Studio #18

This is my second year showing in the Saugerties Studio tours, at age 85, though I have shown in several galleries in the past twenty years. I work in a variety of media, including miniature/abstract collage, watercolor, and -most recently- found and recycled jewelry. Learning the art of watercolor was a journey of patience, one which I still enjoy. Working with collage was a journey of impatience- moving quickly with the ability to change a design as I went. Lately, broken jewelry pieces are my happy finds.  Fragmenting costume and vintage pieces and placing them precisely where I want them on a metal form – to create a unique and colorful artwork – is my specialty.
