Meredith creates figure sculptures through direct observation using live models, and through that process, she has opened herself up to the entirely new concept of seeing instead of looking.
Her sculptures are often the celebration of mixed media, more specifically natural materials such as wood, horsehair and dried flowers which complement the organic nature of the clay.
Meredith is also a photographer and photographs a very friendly wild chipmunk. She turns these photos into notecards and prints. All photos are shot on her farm, and are taken with her IPhone and are not edited. NO PHOTOSHOP. This chipmunk is completely wild. She creates and builds the scenes and then sits and waits for the chipmunk to visit daily. All other animals featured are rescue animals living on her farm. Her photographs can be found on Etsy – www.etsy.com/shop/MostlyMagicMarket
Since moving to the Woodstock/Saugerties area, she has produced outdoor art shows, was the Residency Director of the Byrdcliffe Artist in Residence Program and co-curated the exhibition Up the Hill: Byrdcliffe Artists 2015. Her work is shown locally in several galleries.
Meredith’s studio is located at her home and farm, Mostly Magic Farm, which is home to miniature horses, goats, chickens and ducks.
