Artist in Light

“1st generation Cuban-American artist based in New York, fluent in Spanish. My practice expands light upon the photographic medium, developing new manual and cinematic techniques exploring paths of particle and wave through a lens of the post-digitized era. Drawing upon traditional still and cinematic methods with a digital 4×5, I explore paths of light that have not yet been developed, highlighting the space between the shutter and time within capture.

My work spans in-camera light photography, long exposure, blockchain-native editions, and sovereign software. The throughline is photography, from darkroom processes at RISD (BFA, 2003) to digital preservation at Industrial Color in New York, where I learned file integrity from origin in camera through server operations and delivery. That discipline became the foundation for everything I build now.”
