Margarita Asiain is an abstract painter working mainly in oils as well as mixed media. She favors earthy tones and her work frequently suggests plant and water life to invoke a connection to the Earth and non-human world. She paints in abstraction for the freedom, spontaneity, and above all, the relinquishing of attachment to outcome and the discoveries this way of being brings. A Registered Nurse with a Masters in Public Health, she has lived in Saugerties since 2018 and is pursuing a life more grounded in the arts. She studies at the Woodstock School of Art and has shown work in WSA Student Exhibitions.
