Gustav Pedersen

Studio #21

Gus Pedersen is a blend of technologist and artist. His father was a machinist and merchant sailor, and his mother a painter from a Breton, France farming family. The result is a creative voice equally at home in precision and expression.

He began his career in the U.S. Submarine Service as a Periscope Photographer, where framing, timing, and observation were critical. After his service, he earned a BA in Finance and an MBA, grounding his work in structure, systems, and problem-solving.

Today, Gus brings those disciplines into visual storytelling as a videographer. His work focuses on capturing the character, history, and hidden details of places—blending narrative, composition, and motion to create films that reveal what others might overlook.

Alongside his video work, Gus explores sculpture as a tactile extension of his creative process—shaping form, balance, and contrast in physical space much as he does through the lens.

An avid sailor with thousands of miles of blue-water experience, Gus continues to draw inspiration from the interplay of movement, light, and environment—whether at sea, in the workshop, or behind the camera.
