Jean Campbell

Jean Campbell received her BFA from Washington University in St Louis.  After living in New York City and spending a year painting in Tequisquipan, Mexico, she finally settled in the Hudson Valley .

Jean has been an active member of the local community, starting an Artists’ Coop “Upfront Art” in Kingston in 1999.  She also has been a member of  WAAM,  the Tivoli Artist’s Coop and the Art Society of Kingston. She has mostly shown her work at alternative spaces in the Hudson Valley and Martha’s Vineyard. She was the recipient of an award from the National Academy of Art in New York City in 1997.   Her work was chosen for the 2018 Hudson Valley Garlic Festival poster.

Jean’s work is a modern take on American folk art that reflects a love of simplicity, color and materials.
